Thursday night i definitely went big was suffering all day friday. For some reason it seems that everytime i go really big i always have to work the next day. Nothing like nursing a hang over in RGPS considering it is about 90 plus thanks to the grill. My parents got in friday night after a tough day of traveling for them. Friday night we went out to dinner and then i had hit hay considering i had to wake up @ 7 for graduation. I got a ride up school with shriver in the red rock. Graduation went well and then I was off to the airport to pick up todd's truck. I actually rode the mtb bike there so i could hit up the gulch and come out over by the new hospital lucky i haven't visited it yet. ( knock on wood) Later that night my parents myself and meg went to dinner at the mahogany grill. It was amazing and they ever had a wine tasting deal where you get 3 different wines that equal a glass and half. That is a cool concept first time i've seen it with wine. After that it was back home to try to get some sleep before i headed down for the Alien Run MTB race in Aztec, NM. This would be the second day i had to wake up with the roosters at 7. The Alien Run is a race in the desert with i would say 60% single track and 40% dirt roads. We has a good turn out even this guy showed up.

I had a good race attacked about 10 min in and created the group of myself, TBrown, and Zak Shriver. We rode together the entire race witness a Zak Shriver Surge man that hurt. With about 5 min to go i overshot a corner and Tbrown gaped Zak and that was the race. We came in all with in 10 seconds of eachother but it was the singletrack that was speed controlled so it was impossible to close gaps. I was happy with the ride and think the form will be on target for fontana.

Other D-town Results...
Todd won the Maryland UCI race.
Matt Shriver won the D-town crit
Dan Bowman 2nd overall @ TofVA
Guptil 9th @ TofVA
Corey won the prologue @ Bisbee and ended up 10th or 11th overall
Snyder and Cale had good rides in Cali 21st and 16th in the XC

Squawker Classic

This past weekend was the flc road race weekend. The racing started off saturday morning @ 8 with a TTT. I was on a team with two of the younger guys and we put up a good fight until 2nd guy in line hit a rock and flatted and you need to finish with 3 to get scored so that event was over for me. Saturday afternoon we had a crit downtown. Best crit the school has ever put on for sure. Normally the crit is around a parking lot. I felt good in the crit and put down alot of attacks with 4 to go I thought i had something that would stick but i got brought back and got 4th in the sprint. Saturday night was senior prom so all the little ones were out dressed to impress. We saw alot of people out going for the worst award of the night. Sunday morning Meg made Snyder and I pancake's for breakfast. In the road race I was looking to get a good workout in so I attacked numerous times. I got into a group with about 40 mins left that I figured had a good chance of sticking but we got brought back and the front group was down to 10 of us with 6 FLC guys so i just continued to attack to try to wear down the others in the group. The tactic ended working considering FLC ended up going 1-4 and of course I was burned ended up last out of the group. Snyder and Schmitty ended up 2 and 3. I though Schmitty had it until one of his own chased him down but that is how FLC always rolls.

College is almost over!!!!

Well I have a week and 2 presentations left in my time at fort lewis. Looking foward to being done. Besides from that the trials in d-town are in amazing shape. We even have had a rough couple of weeks but the trails are still running strong. Next weekend is the home race at the college and is always a fun weekend to do 3 good races without having to get into a car at all. Each race is within 10 min of the house. It looks like Todd had his best sea otter to date he is riding awesome right now. Also watched Paris-Roubaix and O'Grady killed it, soloed in from almost 25k out it appeared he was on another level.
